Do any of you play Christmas Carols on the Lap Steel?
I love Christmas music, and every year record a CD with 10-12 songs featuring a lot of Lap steel, guitar and Pedal steel.

Click the link below for a sample instrumental.
you may have to wait a few seconds for the song to load... Dom Franco Mr. Green

The music and your playing was very nice, Dom.

I general go through a whole list of Christmas songs both popular and sacred as a part of my Christmas enjoyment.

This year I will be playing a Hawaiian lap steel in church for Christmas. The song that I will be playing is "What Child Is This?. It is a very nice song for steel.

We still haven't gotten together. And we should do so in the coming year. IMO Smile I guess the river is keeping us apart! Winking

Aloha, Smile

Don, What church do you go to? Let's meet some time.

I love the sacred (religous) Christmas carols the best, and that is why I only played an instrumental, of all these others. I don't like to put Rudolph, Frosty and the Lord Jesus in the same category!

I go to Calvary Chapel of Portland. I don't get to play my lap steel as often as I would like to because I usually lead the worship service from the guitar. Smile

Sincerely;
Dom Franco

The last couple of years, I've been asked to play at our church's Christmas Eve service. To keep it as simple as possible, I usually just play my Superior Weissenborn.
We always close the service with a lighting of candles accompanied with yours truly playing "Silent Night". I'll be doing a repeat performance this year also.

By all means we need to get together and explore our mutual spiritual journeys. I will be back in touch with you after a short Thanksgiving trip which begins tomorrow and lasts until Monday.

The church I attend is called LifePoint which was formerly known as Glad Tidings. The new name is an updating of name but not message.

I am very familiar with Calvary Chapel and relate to all they teach.

Keep in touch.

Aloha, Smile
