My 50's style National Dynamic pickup is ailing. Some strings just aren't very loud anymore and it tends to be microphonic. Is there anyone rewinding or building repros? My guitar is the 8 string model looks a lot like a New Yorker.

Thanks

Tom, get a hold of Jason Lollar. He rewound a Stringmaster pickup for me awhile back and it sounds great. Click Here

If the pickup does not need a re-wind you might be able to get some better replacement magnets from Rick Aiello-also the if the pole pieces on the pickup are the screw type they might just need adjustment closer to the strings

Dont use bronze or brass strings but steel ..A magnet needs steel to pickup.

The 6 string pickup does not use the magnets Rick A makes. It may just need "regaussed", and Rick can do that for you as well. If they need a rewind Jason Lollar or Lindy Fralin are about the best choices I am aware of, unless Jerry Wallace is able to do it.
