My 50's style National Dynamic pickup is ailing. Some strings just aren't very loud anymore and it tends to be microphonic. Is there anyone rewinding or building repros? My guitar is the 8 string model looks a lot like a New Yorker.
Thanks |

Tom, get a hold of Jason Lollar. He rewound a Stringmaster pickup for me awhile back and it sounds great. Click Here |

If the pickup does not need a re-wind you might be able to get some better replacement magnets from Rick Aiello-also the if the pole pieces on the pickup are the screw type they might just need adjustment closer to the strings |

Dont use bronze or brass strings but steel ..A magnet needs steel to pickup.

The 6 string pickup does not use the magnets Rick A makes. It may just need "regaussed", and Rick can do that for you as well. If they need a rewind Jason Lollar or Lindy Fralin are about the best choices I am aware of, unless Jerry Wallace is able to do it. |
