Kanoe Miller as many of you know dances at the House Without A Key along with the Hiram Olsen Trio with Hiram, Casey and Dennis Keohokallole has just released her first DVD Romantic Waikiki Hula. Those who wish to buy it can get a good review of it at her new website www.kanoemiller.com. It has other features on it including interviews with the musicians. Received mine yesterday. |

Jack,
Kanoe is still at the Halekulani, but the trio you mentioned is no longer performing there together.
Thanks for the tip Jack. |

Roger,
The groups that plays at the Halekulani are Pa'ahana (Kaipo Kukahiko on steel), Jeff Au Hoy's group, and Greg Sardinha and his group Po'okela. |

Derrick,
I guess I could have wrote that a little clearer. I knew that Hiram's trio doesn't play there anymore.
I intended to let the folks on the forum know who was backing her up on the DVD. Confusing Yeah!!! |

Hi Jack,
Is there a lot of steel guitar work to be heard on the DVD? or just interviews with the trio?
Aloha, Derrick |

I bought the DVD 'OnLine" as soon as THIS post was made, and then Kanoe sent me an e-mail asking if my system could play USA 'NTSC' format so I replied and asked for a refund, which was graciously implemented.

Basil,
unless you have a really, really old TV set, you should be fine with that DVD - most current production TV sets and DVD players have no problem at all playing PAL, SECAM, NTSC, etc. DVDs! |

Thanks for the info Roman, BUT, I didn't say I couldn't play it, I said that Kanoe gave me the option and I asked for a refund..
But also the DVD is encoded 'Region-1' ? |

About the region code: that depends on your DVD player - you'll have to look that up in the manual, whether it would be able to play a "region 1" coded DVD or not - lots of DVD players, and interestingly, mostly the cheapo no-name generic ones, are "code-free", which means they can play DVDs from any region.

Has Kanoe's E-mail been fixed?
My initial message was also automatically returned.

I don't think so Roger, I got in touch with her using PayPal and sending her a message within the complaints procedure.. |
