I have been working with Mike Ihde's Leavitt Tuning course and have just made my first post to the Tab section. The song is "Our Love Is Here To Stay" by George Gershwin. I tabbed the song using PowerTab and then converted the bitmap image (large) to jpeg (small) for the forum. If you have the free PowerTab program and would like my file just send me an email and I'll be happy to share it.

I would appreciate any comments and suggestions for making better tabs....this one may be a little difficult to see....

My motive for doing this is to add to the 'library' of material in the Leavitt Tuning. And also as a way of saying 'Thank You' to Roy Thomson and Mike Ihde for working so hard to make their material available. Of course, the greater 'Thanks' goes to William Leavitt, for having the genius to see what could be found in six strings...

What improves seeing the Tab more clearly is to make the fonts larger and in bold. This can be done by going to VIEW which is located just to the right of FILE. Click on Fonts and it will take you the Song Property Sheet where fonts is located. Hit the font icon on the right side and it will take you to where you can change the font. Change font style to bold, and size to 10.
This will make it more user friendly.

Inserting chords will be helpful for your tabs. The chord selection chart is to the right of the red guitar under Cm. Go to each position in the measure and click on Cm and select the chord. It automatically inserts it.

Happy Tabbing

Don,
Many thanks for the tips on enlarging the fonts. I have had the PowerTab program for a while but it never crossed my mind to do that.. Rolling Eyes sure makes a difference.

I entered chord symbols as you suggested, with the following disclaimer - I didn't use a fake book or other arrangement, just used what 'sounded right' to me. Other players may wish to substitute their own 'flavors'.

I do appreciate you taking the time to make the suggestions. The improved version sure is easier to see. Shocked

As mentioned by Roy Thomson on another post, I made a 'rough' recording of this song using the tab as a guide. Some liberties were taken but it allows one to get a feel for the song in the Leavitt Tuning.

The song is on my MySpace page:
