I built a couple of these to tune my Emmons push pull, because I was tired of using the Tee-handle which was hard to insert into the screw head and when would fall out when I moved my hand to the handle to make the adjustment. It was suggested at a local steel jam that I make them available to the steel community, so here they are.

The knob is 3/4" which gives you enough torque to turn the screws, but not enough to strip or break a screw.

The hex wrench is high quality tool grade steel with a flat face. (not a ball head, so it won't enlarge the screw heads) 7/64" X 1-1/2" long. Each tool is slightly magnetic which holds it in the screw head. The knobs are available in Chrome, Gold and Black (for those special black Emmons PP's.)

b0b has allowed me to post prices since I manufacture the tool.

Each chrome tool is $22 including shipping, etc.
Black or Gold is $24 each, (due to the extra cost for the knobs), subtract $2 per tool for an additional tool in the same order.

I take personal checks or cash, sorry I don't have Pay Pal yet.

Marvin,

Great idea,
I have made a lot of these over the years. I find the ball end wrenches work a lot better and they won't enlarge the screw, as it is harder than the wrench

Bobby Bowman let me have his when he saw my eyes light up after he told me what it was. I'm in for a backup or two.
These are great to have.

Of course if you have a woodneck P/P you would need a wrench with a figured maple hand knob. Like this one. Wink

I'd love a nice chrome one for my aluminium neck P/P's. Great job Marvin, email on it's way.

I bought one of these from Bob Knight about 7 or 8 years ago. I like the little rubber bumper on the front in case I miss the hole (no hair!). Just like American Express, I never leave home without it (in my pak-a-seat). Very Happy

An update on the tuning tools.

1. Several forum members requested ball ends on the tool. I will have a few ball head hex wrenches after Christmas, so I can make a ball end if someone wants one.

2. Jay Thompson, just pointed out that the tool works for adjusting the splits on a Legrande, thus a whole new market. Thanks Jay.

The ball end hex wrenches came in today. They are 1" inch longer than the flat end Allen wrenches. I can either make them standard length or 1 inch longer if anyone wants them that way.

Bump for Sunday. I still have the black and gold knobs. The gold looks real nice with a Rosewood.
