Nice Dobro tune from Chuck!

Quote:
I've been on a roll lately. Here's an original tune that was inspired by Herb Remington's song, "Yes, He's Gone." My original features my Dobro tuned to my C6th lap steel tuning-highest GECAGF-lowest. I decided to call the tune, "For Herb Remington."

For Herb Remington

Chuck,

This has everything you want - a nice song and melody and a very good expressive touch on the acoustic steel.

Aloha, Smile

Rick,

Got to see Herb at the studio on Jean Street the week before last and he said hi. He still plays awesome also.

That is a great sound Chuck!
The phrasing and Technique are
just top notch.
First time I heard that set up on
a Dobro.
Great tribute to Herb.
Hope you do some more on that instrument.

Roy

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Glad you're enjoying the tune! As I always mention, Herb has been a major influence on how I hear the steel guitar. Be sure to check out Rick Alexander's post on the reissued Remington lps that are now on CD. Sweetenin', like Yes, He's Gone (also on the CD), are still some of my all time favorites. In fact, I recently performed Sweetenin' at the PSGA Show. I can't wait to hear Herb at the Non-Pedal Session at the TSGA's show in March. He is such a vibrant player.
