Wow, I ordered this a couple days ago, and it's in my hands as we speak. What a fine live recording! The mix is great and you hear the vocals, vocal harmony, steel and everything crystal clear. Upon a second listen, the guitars are not very pesent in the mix. Oh well, more Sneaky! If you're a Flying Burrito fan, or a Gram fan, this is THE Holy Grail.
Order it today.

It's damn good, vocals are up in the mix compared to the band, no probs there though.
is it me, or is the deluxe packaging rather fragile? |

Hey Jason, I agree that the packaging is a little weird. You almost have to rip the Cd pocket apart to get the Cd out of it. Good thing is, I just play it once into iTunes and put it on the shelf after that. |

I wonder if fellow steeler and Amoeba co-owner Joe Goldmark could tell us about finding this little gem?

I just finished listening to it straight through. Every lick of lead guitar on there is Sneaky on steel. Amazing.

it's currently #45 on Billboard country charts!
go Gram go:
Garth Brooks' The Ultimate Hits failed this week to dislodge the Eagles' Long Road Out of Eden from the top of Billboard's country albums chart. Instead, the record-setting Oklahoman had to settle for the No. 2 spot, as the Eagles outsold him 359,000 to 352,000 copies.
Counting the 711,000 units the country rockers sold for last week's debut, they're already well past platinum -- not bad for an act that made its first chart appearance 35 years ago when Garth was 10 years old.
Also entering the albums chart are Little Big Town's A Place to Land (No. 10), Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers' Gram Parsons Archive Volume One: Live at the Avalon Ballroom 1969 (No. 45) and Diamond Rio's A Diamond Rio Christmas: The Star Still Shines (No. 72). _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

Listen to "Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles", with covers by Travis Tritt, Diamond Rio, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks and Dunn... What the Eagles did in the early 70's is what is called "country music" now (with a dash of Lnyrd Skynrd thrown in).
Didn't "Lyin' Eyes" chart pretty high on the country chart when it first came out, as well?

keith, the eagles were more country 30 years ago than country is now...it's really kind of ironic how nashville poo-pooed eagles, byrds, gram parsons, poco etc....and now they've sold out beyond belief...i suppose rap will be on the country charts soon if it sells well!!!!!!!!
ps..travis tritt's 'it's all about to change'..is pure country...isn't john hughey playing on that cut?
...and ronnie dunn spins country circles around most new country singers. |
