The now little-known mastercrafter to be walked off the streets into the Brill Bldg. and into music history time and again in the '60s, when the word quality actually meant something. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/16/arts/music/shadow-morton-songwriter-and-producer-dies-at-71.html?_r=2&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1361044915-2ASDJMHNLOqYceL86Q7Fdw&

I'd heard the name before, but not until the guy passes do we learn what a force he was, even as a greenwood rookie he had IT. I loved all those girl groups and Shadow's death uncovers many of the reasons why. RIP Mr. Morton, and THANX.

Adios, Shadow. I met him once in the '60's at Ultrasonic Studios in Hempstead, NY. At the time he was producing the Vanilla Fudge.
