Dear all,

Two days ago I had the honour and pleasure to sit in with the fantastic band Hazmat Modine from New York City, at their show in Wuppertal, Germany:

(The video was shot from the side of the stage, behind the main PA speakers, so the sound is a bit unbalanced).

I was really nervous beforehand about playing with these great musicians, but they are also great people, so nice, and playing with them was like getting a big musical hug. Smile

I played my 1937 National New Yorker in G-minor tuning, and Michael Gomez (Hazmat Modine's guitarist/steeler) played an early Fender Champion in a C#-minor tuning (I think that was the tuning).

The concert was amazing - they are the best live band I have ever seen! - and to play a tune with them was a wonderful experience that I learnt a lot from (it's still sinking in Wink).

If you get an opportunity to see Hazmat Modine in concert - go!

Smile

Fred

What an honor, Fred! Hazmat Modine released one of my favorite CDs last year, Bahamut. I would love to see them play if they ever visit California!

Yes Brad - that is one of my favourite albums too. And they are even better live - a truly amazing band! To see them play is a pure joy, and to play with them was a fantastic experience! Seeing these humble and great musicians up close has set a new benchmark for musicianship for me. Very inspiring!
