Just a note to let you all know I'll be doing two dobro Workshops at the River City Bluegrass Fest next weekend in Portland OR. 3PM on Saturday and 11AM on Sunday. I'll take questions, demonstrate techniques and teach a tune if we have time. I'll have my 2 DVD set of instructional material for beginning dobro with me and some of my music CDs, so we'll have opportunities for music and mercantilism. Bring yer hound-dogs and let's pick and talk.
And JerryD will be playing with the all-star band that's subbing for Earl Scruggs on Saturday nite so there'll be a whole lotta resonatin' goin' on! |

Thanks for posting this info, Orville. I hope to be at one or both of your workshops. Great festival lineup overall too!
Besides a fine lineup of performers, I also noticed another neat addition to the overall festival ambience:
"Jamming at the Festival: Along with buying your tickets, plan on bringing your instruments. Jamming is very welcome and there is tons of space in this very cool building. We will offer a secure instrument & coat check.
JAMMING AT THE HOTEL - The Red Lion has offered us their 'Windows Conference Floor' from 10pm until ??? for come one, come all JAMMING! This special floor offers great views as well as a bar (until 2am). 2006 ADDITION .. the Red Lion is opening their BALLROOM (just down the hall from Windows) for even MORE jamming area.
They are requesting that no one sleep in the jamming areas."
