Hi folks.......
I'm happy to report that the JERRY BYRD Fan Club is now officially up and running, HOWEVER....

I"m still encountering some difficulties in getting the new MUSIC up and accessible to you all.

I'm also in the process of posting dozens of photo's of JERRY BYRD, most are quite old and should make it an interesting visit back in time. Instead of just posting favorites, I'm going to try and set it up as a series from the beginning until his retirement. I think some of you will have most of the photo's in your Steel Guitar Echoes magazines however for those who don't, it should prove to be a real kick!

If any of you have photo's you've taken personally and would like to share them, 'credits' will be given and we'll be happy to include them in our album. I know everyone would enjoy seeing them.

That's about it for now. Thanx for your patience.

Delighted to hear it Ray, but just one point, you still don't give a link to the site, how are newbies to get there, they can't by using the button on your posts (Pictured below for clarity) because the link there is to the old site and doesn't work..
Why don't you 'Update" your profile to give the correct link ?

The end button after you wrote :-

Skip, what can you tell me about an LP I've just acquired, (Mint Condition)It plays on my BBC Transcription system like a studio mastertape.

Steel Guitar Record Club No.1, "Steel Guitar Romantic World" by Jerry Byrd.
I will post high quality mp3's of it later this week, IF there is no copyright issue !!

Another question, has anyone documented the tracks where Jerry has overdubbed the steel guitar, i.e. played two or more parts ? Not only this album but all of his recordings, like for instance the Mercury "Wing" WC 16344 album 'Blue Hawaiian Steel Guitar'.
Basil

BTW, your link is still out of date i.e. the WRONG url.
Clicking your www button gives this url :-
http://jerrybyrdfanclub.com/
this is the proper one :-

Howdy Ray...I love the smooth steel playing of Jerry Byrd and also he does some great up tempo songs and one of them I think the name is Sweet Corn and I have heard the song a few times on steel radio and I have looked at the LPs of Jerry and didn't see it on any of the LPs now I do remember the song being on the Jerry Byrd website a couple years ago.

Ray, great informative site. One correction (possibly a typo.).

Jerry's Life:
During the year 1953:
Johnny Sibert (without the 's') was with Carl Smith

Hi there Basil......
Your comments are appreciated, to be sure.

I have once again, corrected the SGF PROFILE to display the new JBFC info'.

Regarding your recently acquired LP.....I cannot comment. I'm not really an expert, just love JERRY BYRD's music and he, as the person he was.

I have not tabulated all of the many records on which JERRY did multiple recordings. That would indeed be interesting. I simply don't have the time.

Keep your comments coming. THANK YOU.

Well, what time you have put in over the years is appreciated. Very Happy I'm sure Jerry appreciates your efforts.
