I saw a Fender pedal steel D-10 in a pawn shop and I wondering about more information even though I dont have a picture of it.
It has the Fender ash tray style tuners, 4 pedals, 4 knee levers, nylon tuners at the endplate.
I checked all the pedals and levers and could feel the strings moving, so the mechanics seem fine. I suppose the 4th pedal is for the C6 neck.
Pickups are rusty looking and the guitar in general has just been neglected for quite a while obviously but the condition of the body and undercarriage seems to be in reasonable shape.
The store is asking $800. I wonder if this is a good price for the guitar? I imagine there would a fair amount of cash going into it to get it playing well again.
thoughts anyone? |

That's a ShoBud product, and it's a steal (pun intended). Grab it. If it doesn't need enormous amounts of work.

What Ken said, Offer him less,$500/$600, he probably doesn't have more than a couple hundred in it.

Rereading, that's a very odd pedal setup for a D-10. I may be smelling a rat.

I feel like it's odd. The knees and 1st 3 pedals do affect the standard emmons setup on the e9 neck(not that it was in tune, but it does move the strings that correspond to the pedals for e9). |

Sounds like someone removed 4 pedals, and added 4 levers. (D10's never came with just 4 pedals!)
At any rate, it's not a guitar I'd buy, but I do like Fenders. I suppose that's because I don't really consider the Sho-Bud Fenders as real Fender guitars. |
