My opinion is that no manufactuer should ever advertise a product for sale that they don't have on the shipping dock ready to go. |
Well, you may not like it, but advanced advertising and ordering is really a pretty common thing. Many products are also sold on a "made to order" basis (including a lot of pedal steels), and that's really no different, when you think about it.
When you really want the "latest and greatest" anything, it's common to have to wait for it.
Fact of life. ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |

It is a fact of life, but the seller or Peterson should have been forthcoming about the status of the item; it is dishonest to do otherwise. Taking a deposit is OK, but taking the money and not letting someone know that you are not able to ship for an unspecified amount of time is stealing. |

I think three months is a little long for a tuner. |
No excuse for that at all. A tuner, no matter how "high-tech", is a commodity item, not a custom-made, personally-tweaked product. "Back order" in that case should mean immediate notice and the option of a refund. Sitting on your money with "promised" delivery dates is ridiculous. I'd fault the seller, not Peterson; they took your money and should have refunded it immediately. The point-of-sale issue is not the manufacturer's fault, no matter what they may have told the seller. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Sweetwater does not charge your account/credit card for your item until it ship's.

I second what Jim Eaton said. It's also your choice. In todays market place you have to be so so careful. Sweetwater is an old established company with a great track record. Read the stores policy before purchase, ask questions, know what you are in for before you lay the green backs down. It's no ones fault. As was said, this is common practice. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

I just cancelled my order too. I'm very happy with my Stroboflip tuner though! I'm in the process of downsizing my rig, so I'll be selling my effects rack, which was where the Stroborack tuner was going to go. I'm selling my NV400 in another posting and will just use only my Evans SE200, that I just purchased from another Forum member. _________________ Best regards,

Ordered five EAW monitors on Sept. 13 with a promised
delivery time of 8 days. Every week they promise to
ship the next week. Still waiting. This is one of those outfits that lead you to believe they have the stuff in stock, but build it when they get an order. |

Again, you have to ask, you have to be in the know. There are alot of things that are common practice that i don't agree with neither. But again, buyer is in charge or should be...it's up to you to know. I never buy anything from anyone with the assumption something is in stock. I get names, employee numbers, i know who i am talking with, even the shift they work. And with all that being said, i have still been shafted. I dig..i read, i make damn sure, that what i buy is there, ready to go. And if i get it, and it's not what i want, or ordered, or even not delivered as promised, i'm outta there. It happens, do we like it? no..but again..the buyer is in control. These people who think they are doing you a favor by selling you something, or letting you buy from them, stay clear. If it's not right for me..it goes back period. Good luck in your purchase of your strobo tuner. I hope everything works out ok for you. I would have cancelled my order as well. George |

My friend...i feel your hurt. I joined a better buy club. Our local community college offered the course. I learn many things from the folks who actually sell online, and the locals. I am a franatic when it comes to buying anything that is not local. Now of course, when it comes to steel guitars, or automobiles, and a few other things, their are exceptions. But there are so many people out there waiting to sell me something, i make them sell to me on my terms or i don't buy from them, period. And i always manage to get what i need. If i can be of any help to anyone on the forum, just drop me a line with your situation, and perhaps i can be of help. But you are the buyer..if their policy does not sound attractive, you can find someone to sell you that cable, or tuner, or strap, or strings, processor, preamp, rack case that will accomadate your needs. You the buyer is incharge...not the big dude that sells more cables, preamps, volume pedals then anyone in the world. I say again and again. It's a matter of economics..not yours, but theirs, if they want to stay in business. I read here on the forum that an outfit is selling Nashville 112's at $360 or something like that. If you look around, be patient, they will come to you..that simple. George |
