"Still Feels Good" was released yesterday. It's really good, it has steel on 12 out of 13 tracks.

I don't recall ever seeing a steeler with them on any of their TV appearances either. Maybe the key word here in regards to Travis Toy is, "was."

I saw them last nite in NYC .. at the Letterman show..no steel.. 2 Les Pauls, a fiddle you could not hear, a keyboard kid with a Hammond and a Leslie and who knows what else.. Gary "the voice" was way off.. the tune was way forgetable,,I've seen them live about 6 times.. Rascal Flatts leaves me.... flat

Rascal Flatts is whats wrong with country music coming out of Nashville. That being said their albums are extremely well produced. They are great at what they do. The lead singer sounds like an escapie from a Boy Band project. Absolutely NOT country.

I agree with you Kevin. Rascal Flats and the entire rest of todays "country" music leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sure they are all good musicians and singers...but this crap is not country...I'm with the old saying.." don't pi** in the wind and tell me it's raining".

I have seen them on television a couple of times. What I saw sure did not appeal to me, steel or no steel. I will not be going to one of their concerts unless there is a major change in their music.

A musician friend recently took his daughter to see them in Dallas and when I asked how they sounded he said music was good but those Rascals sing Flatt.

Nice gig Travis!! I checked out the videos..pretty good visability for you and Mullen steels and you are playing great.
Some of the country purists might not like it if its not 3 chord simple, but that doesn't make it it bad.
and heck the young girls dig it!

I'm convinced that even though his mouth is open, the singer in RF doesn't need to as he is perpetually singing through his nose.

Yech! And everytime I have heard them live (well, live like on TV) his intonation sucks.

Travis, you must have a time of it trying to play in tune with him....and you are a wonderful player. Still with them?

Well, our $30,000 per year music critics are at it again, telling someone making millions how they can't sing.

I happen to like most of Rascal Flatts stuff, especially "I'm Movin' On". Tommy White thought enough of this song to include it on his latest album also.

I love their records - well-produced and extremely well-played. The singer appears to have good chops, but I'll be disappointed if it turns out he's having pitch-correction in the studio.

'God Bless The Broken Road' is wonderful - how about that piano part???

Oh - it's not 'country'? That's ok - it's all music to me.

Darvin, unfortunately, we're all entitled to our own opinion here, no matter how much money we make. Personally, I think Gary LeVox has pitch problems, and I think he looks like Jesse Davis, the original Maytag repairman, (see below,) so what's not to like?

Darvin

Sorry to hear you only make 30K a year....how DO you survive?

My wifes annual clothing allowance is more than that.

SS

And BTW, I'm not telling them they can't sing, I am just expressing my opinion. Anything wrong with that?
