and if I need a 6th feel on a E9 song I normally just leave my A pedal down.
This is what I've been meaning to ask, but keep forgetting untill I saw this post by Marc.
Will somebody, anybody that knows, just lay it out real simple like, and say what pedal/knee you would use on E9 to get a I II IV and V chord that has that C6 sound? What about using a G chord as an example?
What pedal/knee would you need to get a G6 or I chord sound on E9. Then a II chord the IV and V.
I think if someone would do this, it would go a long way in helping us players that ain't quite got music theory down good, to learn how to play C6 sounds on E9. Thanks in advance

Terry one way is to lower your Es with knee lever
example: do this for the G chord
10th fret A&B down for the major G,,,back up two frets 8th fret no pedals & lower your Es & play strings 8-7-6-5-4- for the 1 chord,
for the 4 chord simply release the knee lever lowering the Es & play strings 3-4-5-6-8-10 for the 4 chord.
For the 5 chord simply move up two frets to the 10th
fret with the A pedal
Try it youl like it |

AH HA!! So that would work in any key using the E to Eb knee, back two frets from your major key to get your I chord, then let off the knee to get your IV chord, then move up two frets with A pedal down for your V chord right? And I assume your II chord would be two frets up from your I chord using the same knee, E to Eb would that be right? Sounds like it might be a II anyway. Thanks Richard. I'm goin to learn how to play this thing yet.!

Terry, also check out Micky Adams web site to see how he uses the lower Es to get a C6th sound on (All My Exs Live In Texas) to get a good example of using the Es for a C6th on the E9th
Micky has a post here on the forum about his videos.

Terry you can get 6th chords/sounds playng off string 9 with the B pedal down. It would be D6 using strings 5,6,7,9 & 10. If you play strings 6 & 7 with your fingers and rake 9 & 10 with your thumb you get a nice 6th sound. Here's something to fool around with that sounds a little like ALL MY EX's the first few notes in G.
