Does anyone know a source for the minature pots with 1/8" dia shafts used on the early MSA's?
Thanx,

I believe they used commercial versions of the RV6 (1/2 watt) pots...1/4" bushing, 1/8" shaft. Any large electronics supplier (i.e. Newark Electronics) carries them. Get a 500k (1/2 meg) resistance value to get maximum output from your pickup. |

I wonder if a 1 meg might not be even better. Single-coil 6-strings usually use 250k; humbuckers 500k; Fender cable-pull steels 1 meg. It seems like with the high impedance of the MSA pickups 1 meg might give smoother control - in theory it should improve it a bit, but I've never tested it. _________________ No chops, but great tone

Thanks for the info. I will try Newark. Used to be a good place in Houston years ago, but now closed.
I will probably try the 1 meg and can always cut value in half or lower if needed.
Thanx,
