I listened to Jeff's magic on "Someone To Give My Love To" and first I can't believe how he could manipulate the strings from behind the nut. Second the melody left me wondering who did this tune originally? Who wrote it? It's a familiar melody that I just can't put my finger on? Anyone?

I'm not sure about the writer of the song but it was a big hit song recorded by Johnny Paycheck I think back in the seventies. I bought a Jeff Newman album in about 1976 and that is one of the songs on the album......there is five songs on one side and the rhythm tracks on the flip side of the album.

John, Thanks. You are right. I went to Amazon.com and found the CD for Johnny Paycheck's greatest hits and it was on it. I even got to listen to a sample. Johnny's arrangment even used the tom tom drum intro that Jeff used.

I got to digging into my CD's and found the tune on Jeff's CD "Steel Stuff. The problem is that I seem to have only the empty case; no CD.
