What are your observations between the Blue Marvel (Stock in the NV 112) and the Black Widow 12" speaker?
What do you hear different?
Thanks!

Tim i put a BW 12" in my Nashville 112, i don't hear any tonal difference at all. But i like the peace of mind the BW gives me, when on the few occasions i do push the little 112. Also, the BW handles the lows much better, then the little stamped frame speaker. I actually use the Nashville for my church playing. But once in a while i do play an occasional jam, and with the BW i know it will cut right through the mix with the big boys amps. |

The only thing a BW really adds to a NV112 is extra weight.
Maybe the new Neodymium magnet BW speakers wouldn't add much weight. |

The 1203-4 Black Widow will retrofit on existing Black Widow speakers. When the neo magnets become available, you will be able to change them out with the stock magnet. Hopefully, we will receive the shipment of neo magnets the latter part of this year.

What Mike Brown said...and i hardly notice any additional weight at all. It won't feel like lead..if it did, i wouldn't have kept it in. You won't notice the couple extra pounds. I did have to do some light disassembly of the amp to switch it out. But hey...no big deal, a 15 minute job. Just knowing the spider is in my amp, makes it sound better. |

I tried a BW in my 112 and really couldn't tell any difference in sound either. It was about 6 or 8 lbs heavier, so I switched back to the Blue Marvel, to save all the weight I could. (I didn't want to use the BM acronym, someone may mistake it for meaning something else. LOL.) _________________ Darvin Willhoite

I would estimate 5 to 6 pounds. And compared to my old Session 500, it's nothing. And i am still lighter then the guys that find it absolutly necessary to tote two Nashville 112's...it's nothing really. And when Mike gets our NEO baskets out to us..i will be within a couple of pound to the original weight of the Blue Marvel. Come'on January!
I figure on switching over all my amps, and Peavey PA cabs, and monitors to the new NEO. Thank You Mike, for coming up with these great innovations, that make Peavey the finest audio gear on the planet...NO EXCEPTIONS! |

Yep, I'm another one waiting on the Neo Black Widows. This is kind of like when the Session 500's first came out. Wasn't it about two years from the time they first advertised them until they were actually available? It was worth the wait though. I bought mine new in 1981 and it still works perfectly today. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

I always have very high respect for Jack's opinion, and I bet he's exactly right-on in comparing his amp's tone. However, I had differn't results. The B.W. speaker changed the signature tone of my Nash-112 when played at moderate to very high volume levels. Perhaps at low level to mid-level volume the difference is minimal, but I confess, I play pretty loud on stage. Not that the Blue Marvel was bad, it's fine, but the B.W. is absolutely better for me. |

Is anyone using one of these for six string guitar?
I'd like to know if this little light weight amp can handle guitar gigs too and what kind of sound it gives a guitar. |

I've never tried a guitar through my Nashville 112, but in my experience I've found that it takes more amplifier for pedal steel than it does for guitar. So if it will handle the steel, it should easily handle a guitar gig. As far as getting the sound you want for guitar.......I don't know. Try it and see. |

I bought the Blue Marvel used in the N112 specifically for my 6 string gear.
Buttery sweet. I have top of the line guitars and amp gear. This speaker just did the trick for me. |

I thought that the BW-12 was better than the Blue Marvel. |

I don't know what "better" is....
I like the way the BM sounds, and that is better than better. |
