I have a Hound Dog, believe it's nickel plated. I have a Blitz cloth but can't seem to get it shining. Any Suggestions? _________________ Mullen RP D10, Peavey NV112, Hilton volume. Hound Dog reso. Piles of other stuff. |

For nickel plated parts on my banjos, I use Nev'r Dull -- it's cotton wadding that loaded up with cleaner/polish. You tear off a piece, polish away, then use a clean cloth to buff away the excess. It's available in auto parts stores, made by Eagle One. |

The Nickel plated cover will eventually tarnish and discolor to the point that no polish will restore it. National now sells fake vintage looking giutars that have worn spots in the nickel finishes - they charge extra for that service!
In the meantime wipe off the cover plate with the blitz cloth, but periodically clean it with any of the metal polishes that the forum members will recommend.
Thanx,

Simichrome will make 'er shine like a new silver dollar. It's a pink cream that comes in a tube. Flitz does a good job too. It's a blue cream that comes in a tube. Simichrome is a little more agressive.
