Rick Aiello debuts a recording of his Boobpan on the classic Hawaiian song "E Mama E". Rick sent me an email detailing the tuning, which neck played, number of strings, bar used etc. etc.

Since Rick checks in on this forum 8000 times a day I'll let him fill you in on the details. Expect a response within 30 seconds.

I really enjoyed that Rick!!
The tone of that guitar is
very nice indeed and you do
a commendable job choosing your
chords and making some very authentic
Hawaiian sounds.IMO

Very sweet tone, Rick. Wonder what it sounds like through a real amp?

Thanks y'all ...

That was using the "left" one ...

I really did try keeping 8 strings on them ... but to no avail ...

I don't get much playin' time anymore (checkin' the forum 8000x's a day is time consumin' ... )...

So all I can offer up is "Live from the Lair" ... just turn on the recorder while I practice ...

I put on an E9 (lo to hi) ... D E F# G# B E ... the other evening ...

And tried to rememeber a few songs ...

...

I actually was real tired and needed to unwind abit (my Ellie is sick again) ... so I went to my Man cave .... plugged into the closest amp ... and tried four E9 songs.

Didn't figure to even get thru them ... it's been awhile ...

I did discover ... "Surprise Waltz" was a "no go" with a flat bar ...

Thanks again y'all ...

Sorry about the BIAB "piano metronome" ...

I actually did try and learn to play rhythm guitar once ... bought a Seagull acoustic and everything ...

But when you combine poor timin' on guitar with poor timin' on steel ...

Hopefully ... Dave "The Hula Monster" Giegerich will record something on his Dustpan ... so you can hear what these things are capable of ...

Till then ... it's just "Two Pick Rick & his Flattie" ... Live from the Lair ...
