I was fortunate enough to accompany him on nylon guitar one night here in Atlanta in front of maybe 20,000+ people. I sat about 6 feet from him. The sound of his voice was stupendous. Just magnificent. |

A great loss to the opera world. It's not at all clear to me who will rise to replace him. To my tastes, the greatest opera voice since Caruso - he had that emotional edge. Considering the technical quality of Caruso's recordings, Pavarotti's opera recordings are the most important ever made, I think. RIP. |

My wife performed in an opera with him at the Spoleto festival in Italy several years ago. He was the operatic equivalent of 'No-Show Jones'. But he will indeed be missed. 'The Two Tenors' just doesn't have the same ring about it, does it... |

One of the all time greatest voices. No, two tenors doe not have a "hook" to it. He will be missed. He and James Brown were great together. Jody. |

More than once, I've stopped my surfing to listen a bit to him. What a fabulous voice!! ![Crying or Very sad](images/smiles/icon_cry.gif) _________________ A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Really? Only a few of the great ones get the recognition that Pavorotti garnered. Obviously a master at the top of his game. I can only imagine the number influenced by his artistry. |
