I have a friend who will be in Nashville during this time period. She asked for advice on things to do while in the area.

She is a country fan, but more of a newer country fan. She still appreciates some of the old stuff, though. (I guess that's one way of saying that she's not as "deep" into this stuff as some of us are.) Think Vince Gill, George Strait, Alan Jackson, etc.

Anyway, what are some of the musical and non-musical things to see in the area.

I thought about putting this in another area but thought this might be the best place.

Thanks in advance for all of your help and suggestions.

Hello,
I posted this in another thread, so i will just copy and paste it here. It has a few links of websites that she can go to and check out to see if anything catches her eye.

I have been to Nashville a little bit and might be able to help ya out. What are ya looking to do in Nashville? The Country music hall of fame is a must see www.countrymusichalloffame.com along with the Grand Ol Opry www.opry.com and the Ryman Auditorium www.ryman.com if you like history about the Grand Ol Opry.
If you are wanting to see good live music, I would recommend Robert's Western World www.robertswesternworld.com down on lower Broadway. Once you are down there you can walk into just about any bar and see great live music for free. Most all of the bars live music starts up around 11AM or so and goes until 2 AM the next morning. Very Happy
If you are looking for hotels, it really depends on what you want to be close to. Opryland resort is pretty nice but a little pricey. If you want something else closer to downtown I think you can get on www.nashville.com and find a hotel.
Hope that helps ya out!
Jamie
