Hi Forum Members,
I have relocated some of the instruction material courses that I wrote with the Hilton Publishing Company, Branson, MO during the 1980s.
These were done in booklet format with easy number tablature for learning E-9th, C-6th, lap steel guitar and Dobro tunings. Each book has songs, licks, vamps, runs, etc.
The books are titled:
1) Nashville Hot Steel Made Easy for E9th
2) Touch of The Masters Hand - Gospel for E-9th
3) Songs of the Islands - Hawaiian Songs for E-9th
4) Western Swing Steel - for C-6th Pedals
5) Nashville Roundup - for 6 string lap steel C-6th
6) Dobro Power - for Dobro and or lap Steel G tuning
If anyone would be interested in any or all of these e-mail and I will send you back a complete listing of the material and songs covered in the courses.
The booklets with tablature we are selling for $12 each and I pay the shipping inside USA. If you want all 6 books, I'll let them go for $50 for the 6 instruction books.
There's alot of material here for the beginning steel or moderate steel player.
Thanks and GOD bless!

I would be interested in NO1, Nashville Hot Steel Made Easy for E9th. Is it just AB pedals or does it have knee levers too? I can't be sure what "easy" means. Can you give me anymore info about the book? |

Yes Tamara,
The "Nashville Hot Steel Made Easy," booklet is written for the basic Nashville setup, E-9th with 10 strings, 3 floor pedals , 4 knee pedals.
By saying easy, I mean understandable. Some tablature is not easily understood. With dedication and practice one can do it. This was written for the beginner to moderate player.
Tablature booklet includes the following:
Tuning, pedal chart, explanation of reading tablature.
Also includes the songs:
1) Song "Sleepwalk," played in a Lloyd Green style
2) "Indian LoveCall" played in a style similar to Jimmy Day's version.
3)Turnaround for song "Make The World Go Away," as I recorded it with International violinist Shoji Tabuchi of Branson, MO.
4) Nashville Steel licks, endings, intros.
5) The sonf "Gardenia Waltz" played in the style of Buddy Charleton of Texas Troubadors.
5) Turnaround for "Together Again," Tom Brumley style.
6) More steel guitar fill licks, including "Cajun style" steel lick.
7) "Cold, Cold Heart" the Hank Williams song similar to Lloyd Green styling.
The song "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"
9) Some fast bluegrass endings for E-9th
The booklet sells for $12 and I pay postage in USA.
Thanks and GOD bless!

As much as I would like to have it, I am 3 knee levers short of a guitar that would do it. I best pass for now. Even with the "easy" word, It's way above what I can do right now. Put it back in the ring. |

Hi Tamara,
I will be doing a series of steel guitar DVD instructional materials soon. I plan to teach at any level and number of pedals or non-pedal that the individual player wants to learn.
Goodluck with your steel guitar!

Hi David,
I am not presently setup to do paypal. The reason, is because I only use internet before school and on my lunch time and after school where I work. We can only access and use certain areas on the internet and very limited as to sending or recieving pictures, etc.
Sorry about the inconvience but you can still order by check or money order from me at:

Forum members,
Over the weekend I went through some materials at my mother's ouse. I also found another instruction book that went along with this series that I wrote for Hilton Publishers during the 1980s.
The other book is titled: "Rockin' The Steel Guitar"
It was written for the E-9th setup of 3 floor and 4 knee pedals. This is for beginner to the moderate player level.
It includes the following:

- Songs and licks included:
Kansas City, Proud Mary, You Are My Special Angel, Elvis' Return to Sender, Bluesy Funky Steel Licks from song Polk Salad Annie, Memphis Tennesse, and Rock Around The Clock.
