Anything from the ISGC this year? I don't recall seeing any reports or pictures, like there have been in the past, for those of us "poor souls" that couldn't attend this year.

Hey Jack - - I am sorry that you couldnt make it. I often feel "spoiled" only living 160 miles from STL.

As you know if you have been here more than 4 or 5 times you can literally predict what is going on. I can say it is is in typical (but exciting) form here at the 2007 ISGC.

Herby played he is doing great getting back to top form, Mike Sigler is continuing tio turn heads and drop jaws - he gets faster, cleaner, and smoother every year.

The side rooms are very active (maybe a little more than in oast yrs).. lots of really great pickers and fiddlers.

I will continue to report and even attempt to post a few pictures.

Again, sorry that you couldnt make it.

See you next year, Jack!

Tim, thanks for the update. I plan on being there next year, this makes two years in a row that I missed.

I used to live in Kansas City, Mo and made every Convention from 1978 (at the old Chase Park Plaza Hotel) to 1998.

Jack

Check my Mike Johnson post in "events"

Attendance seemed way down this year. Any reports on that?

Seeing Paul twice! in the Jazz room and the big stage, Buddy twice and Mike Johnson in the Peavey room and the big stage made the best ever show for me!

Bud & Gerri Issacs singing "Have I told you lately that I love you" in the Derby room was a highlight. PF' show on the main stage was great, as was Dave Easley's very personal approach on the jazz stage -- it was the first time I'd seen a steeler tackle "Giant Steps."

I didn't notice that attendance was down -- I'd also be curious to know.

Dirk,

I was the lead guitar player on that jam with Ron Elliot, Russ Hicks that featured Bud Issacs and his wife. I have goose bumps listening to that harmony.

What an honor...

Tim,
Sometimes folks will get up there on stage to do what they used to do easily when they were younger, and things will kind of... well, you know, come apart. Not this time. They were something else. My girlfriend was holding back tears.
