it's rare that you get a response when asking for tabs for a country-rock song on here and I don't know why

I seem to recall having seen it somewhere. Have you tried Rebel & Ricky's site yet?

Timely post, I've just been working on this song. Here's the way I hear the intro off the Sweetheart Of The Rodeo version:

9-------------------------|-----------------|---------|

That's some good C6 tab on the "old forum" link. I've been practicing it on my lap steel.

The above tab: You Ain't Goin Nowhere The tab is for a 10 string, 2 questions from this newby

1. can the same song be played on a 6 sting. I am assuming it can but one would have to change the tabs how does one transform the tabs to a 6 sting? Nothing fancy, just give me a clue if ya can.

2nd I believe someone said that or I mis understood that it was in C6 tuning, how do you know if it is not written somewhere on the tab? or if it is not written somewhere ya just don't know the tuning of the tab!

Thanks for helping this beginner out here.

Dean, the tab above is for 10 string E9 but if you click on This link and scroll to the bottom you can see that the 10 string C6 tab can be used on a 6 string lap steel with a (low to high) C E G A C E tuning. I played it on my lap steel and it sounds pretty good.
