I can remember the first time I heard the "Black Album" and "Greensleeves". It was the first song I heard Buddy play and made me realize he was the master of the instument. Well, many, many years later Buddy leaves no doubt in my mind he still is that master. He played Shenandoah acapella. You could have heard a pin drop (or a slug slither). The tone, chord inversions, notes and overall delivery were spine tingling. To me, it was a moment in my musical history that will always be with me. Oh and by the way, everything else he played Friday and Saturday was great. Thanks Buddy! _________________ Bruce W Heffner AKA Wally

I whole heartedly agree. I first heard Buddy play Shenandoah on Prairie Home Companion this past winter. I was blown away, especially by a thing he plays about 10 seconds from the end. There is a decending scale within a chord that is just unbelievable. When he did it at the ISGA show, he made it look and sound effortless.

The first time I heard him play Exodus I wet myself. It was the most heart felt thing I had ever heard. The crowd just sat there until their eyes cleared then erupted in applause.
Oh my can that boy play some steel.
