If I died today, it would take 3 undertakers a week to get this big grin off my face!
I received my new ZUM StageOne guitar from Doug Earnest this morning and WOW!!!
I am very impressed with the quality of the workmanship, the action of the pedals and KL's and the pick-up is just killer sounding!!
Took it out of the case, tuned it and plugged it in to a little Crate Bass amp I keep here in my office and spend my lunch hour picking on this new little beauty to some BIAB tracks on my computer. I can hardly wait to get it home and plug it into my NV112's.
If your looking for a first guitar to get started with or (like me) your looking for a quality built great sounding little guitar that you can use for those times when you don't want to drag your full rig out for a quick coffeehouse gig or jam, then look no further that the ZUM StageOne!
Oh yea!!!! It's BLACK too!

Jim, Congratulations on your purchase of a new StageOne. Doug built mine in May and I enjoy playing on it every day.(Mine's red) Doug does a really great job and is a super nice guy to deal with.

My wife had to drag me out of the studio at 9:00 last night for dinner! I was playing through a NV112 & NV1000 and this little guitar is just great!
Big thanks to Doug Earnest for building such a quality axe at this price and he's a great guy to deal with too!

i had a stage one that was built by Bruce
with a 3 & 4 set up. the best studet model i ever owned ( i had 3 )

I've got mine 3X3 when Bruce first started building them in about 1986.The only problem I ever had was when the decal fell off in 1992 but this year it finally irked me enough to get er fixed and Doug sent me a new decal! What a great sounding stay in tune little steel. It has served me well and so elegant in its simple design!

I took mine on vacation for 2 weeks earlier this summer. Played it every day frequently for hours on end. What a fine little machine!
I've gigged with it, recorded with it; it's done everything I've asked it to do with no trouble, and a great sound.
I would heartily recommend a StageOne to anybody looking for an "economy model" guitar, beginner or experienced player. |

Dave,
It was your posts about the StageOne that caught my eye and got me started looking in them.
Thanks for the heads up on them as I'm just delighted with mine and again Doug is just a super guy to deal with and delivers a quality product that is just such a value for the price it's a no brainer.

| Tamara, I think we could possibly make arrangements! Tommy Dodd had a pro ZumSteel made in hot pink and lilac and if memory serves me there may be some formica left....it wasn't particularly popular although I personally thought it was kinda cool. We named it "Pinky Marie" and re-covered it a few years later. |

must have been some changes made to the stage ones.
the frist thing i noticed was the raised neck .
the one that i had did not have it, there was just a stick on fret board. any other changes ?

There have been several changes, all for the better I hope. Grover keys, humbucking pickup, metal necks and pedal boards are some of the major refinements.

Not that it nessesarily has anything to do with anything, but are the endplates plastic?
Not to diss the guitar. A lot of people seems very happy with it. Just wanna know

| What a nice looking steel! I changed my mind about the color. I'm thinking black or red. Most likely black. That may be the best in case I ever get in trouble financially and have to sell it. I am saving money. Maybe June 08. 3 pedals and 4 knee levers seems just right somehow. I'm learnin' to play 'cause I love the sound. IF I ever get to make a buck at it, I'll take it, but it's not a goal right now. I really have to say it again...ONE GREAT LOOKIN' STEEL! |
