Hi folks, well my new MSA Legend is two weeks old today and has already been to the Branson Super Event, The Albuquerque Super Jam, and three or four jams in between.
Let me tell you a little bit about her. The color is cinnimon red and natural maple. This guitar plays better than any guitar I have ever sat down behind. The action is so precise it almost plays its self. The tone, well I was totally suprised and happy when I first sat down to it. I knew going into it, the all-wood body was going to have a different tone than I was used to playing. What a suprise!! I tweeked my amp just a little and BAM, I had my tone I've been playing all the time. This tone is super clean and clear and the string seperation is right on the money. The string returns are right on zero and maybe a cent and a half of cabinet drop, I can't hear it with my ear.
This guitar is put togather like you wonldn't beleive. Every detail fits like a glove. The adjustible pedals and knee levers (on the fly) is so cool.
I was worried it might take me some time to adjust to this guitar as I only had 3 days to get ready for the Branson Show, but man it took just a few hours and it was a done deal, its the easiest playing steel guitar I have ever played.
Well I won't ramble on, you got ta get ya one of these, you won't be sorry for sure.
(P.S.) I'll be in the MSA Room with this guitar all weekend at the St. Louis Show. Stop in and take a look at it and others we'll have there. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

Hi Roger, I'm still with the E-66, seems to do it for me. I tried the TT and a XR-16 and still stuck with the E-66. Thanks Roger. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

I concur with everything Fred says; my carbon fibre D-10 is a thing of beauty. Everyone who has played it remarks about how quickly they felt at home behind it. Being able to adjust pedals and levers without getting up is a really cool and useful feature as well. |

Hey Fred! Bee-you-tee-ful guitar, my pal! I know with you behind it it sounds killer, but you could make a swinette sound great
I'm sitting here nursing a hole in my head where there was a wisdom tooth, and just looking at that pretty guitar makes me feel better! Enjoy it, and I will see you soon.

Fred, I try not to brag tooooo much on my M3 Millennium but you sure described it well. These are just fantastic guitars. The Bill Lawrence 710s are still my pickup of choice though. I`m glad you are happy with your new guitar buddy.

NICE, NICE, NICE. I agree with the previous posts concerning how quickly you get accustomed to these guitars. I've spent 3 or 4 weeks with some guitars getting familiar with the little nuances, but I got my Millenium on a Friday, tweaked the tuning, pedals and knee levers a little on Saturday, and played it with the band on Sunday morning, and it felt like I had been playing it for years. These are great guitars, and when Johnny sets them up, they are set up right. The MSA folks are great to deal with too, in fact my fifth MSA is on order right now, hopefully it will be finished in a month or two. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

I have to agree with everyone's comments about the fit and feel of these guitars. I had my pedals and KL dialed in exactly as I wanted them in just min's, with out tools! I am also very happy with the quick change pick-up's. I ordered my guitar with a humbucker and it sounded good. But when I got a TrueTone single coil on the quick change mounting plate, the guitar just blossomed!
So Darvin, is the new one a Studio Pro???

Yes Jim, the new one is a Studio Pro. I'm having them do a few special things on it though, I'll post pictures when I get it. When it gets here, I will have a Classic SS, a Legend, a Millennium, a Superslide, and a Studio Pro. If they come out with another model, I'll probably have to try it too. _________________ Darvin Willhoite

Roger here is the best way I can discrib the differance between the Studio Pro and the legend.
The Legend: is a all hard rock maple lacquer finished body available in many colors.
The Studio Pro: is also a hard rock maple lacquer finished body, with the crome metal trim pieces in front, made to look like a mica body. Comes in black as a standard color. All MSA guitars are now 24-1/4 inch scale.
Jay Dee's new MSA is a Studio Pro and there are some pic's of them on the MSA website as well.
I hope this helps Roger. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

I picked up an MSA D10 last St Louis and even though it is played every day, I have only broken one string - and that was a 10th string.
I am waiting to see if it will last a full 12 months without breaking either a 3rd string or a 5th string.
As for staying in tune - it does that as well! |

Clive I have logged a lot of playing hours on my Legend and not broke a string yet, great guitars.
Mike, Johnny told me when I went to pick mine up that they now have 24-1/4 inch scale on the intire line of MSA guitars. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com
