I'm not from there but I lived there for 4 years while going to school in Montgomery. I absolutely loved the people there. So I guess I would be called a "want to be"?

My wife is from Keyser West Virgina, and we live real close to WV, but over in the high tax state of Maryland. But I love WV just as much as most West Virginians do. We are up here in the Maryland Mountains, just so close-------------

There are more steel players in this state than the ones who have posted. I'm from the northeastern corner of southern West Virginia ,aka Lewisburg. I play with the group Taylor Made based out of Beckley. It's a great band with absolutely superb sibling trio harmony. Most of us were influenced by the late Gary Boggs or Russ Hicks in some way or another. lol don

hey joe, i'll be seeing wendy and the brothers soon to rehearse i'll pass along the shout out. TAYLOR MADE sure is an improvement over the first name: I-79, yeesh! the release of the single titled Heavy Duty Beauty is scheduled to take place in april . It's an A team Nashville project with Mike Johnson on steel. His solo is great and features a totally wicked open string bar hammering part that i don't think i've ever heard on mainstream country radio. don
hey jim, good question. i always wondered where he was out of in this state. read about him on this forum once. heard of him in the early seventy's. you were referring to the steel player right?
