It did Gerald!!
I am packing my bags for Joliet.
I would not miss this years convention and hearing and seeing Paul Kim. Not only is he a great steel guitarist but a top-notch falsetto singer. He knows all of the good kine stuff.
When he starts singing some of the "ole stuff,"
I guarantee you one thing, you are going to have a uncontrollable case of "chicken skin."
Of course if you don't like to have good old fashioned "chicken skin", you should stay home and be miserable. But please keep to your self, so that you don't make others miserable with you.

A good friend Wally Pfeifer who is a member of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Assn. passed along this testimonial from a Hawaiian friend in Honolulu about Paul Kim, guest artist for the HSGA convention.
And congratulations, too, on your selection of Paul Kim. He is a fine human being as well as a terrific steel player and falsetto. I’ve enjoyed him at the Marriott and at Honey’s, but my favorite moment was at Honolulu Art Academy when he was playing backup for Led and Richard Hoopii. After performing brilliantly all night, during the jam at the end, he said, “I’ve just got to get in here,” and busted out his falsetto. Up until then I’d never heard him sing. It was fabulous!

I am telling you don't miss this convention. Talent like Paul Kim doesn't come around often for most of us. Remember those events you have missed in the past and how you wanted to kick yourself for missing it. Don't let this be another one.

Hi Gerald,
You're killin' me. Keep this up and I WILL come to the HSGA convention despite all the forces that are presently stopping me. Next year for sure.
Say, do you know who the personnel are on Ms. Fo's recording? She's not playing steel, right?

Gerald,
I have tried to load and play Tahuala by Barney, but something is wrong. Is it on your end or my end? Is anyone else having a problem?
I have not had any problem loading your first two songs by Ah See and Fo.
It is only two more weeks until we hear those tantalizing strings play that sweet Hawaiian music.
Is anyone else out there getting excited, or am I the only one?

| Don, I couldn't get it to open right away for me either so I saved it first. Then it played right away when I opened it from the saved file. |

Garry, your advice was perfect, or as they say it in French - PAARFEECT!! 
It played immediately after saving it. Hope this helps others.
I still do not know what the problem is and I have Windows XP.

One of the best things in Joliet is the Chinese buffet that Wally and
Alma Pfeifer took us to. For less than $10.00, all you can eat. Don't pass this one up!!! |
