The Fullerton Museum in Fullerton, California (former headquarters of Fender) is hosting an exhibit on the history of the ukulele and steel guitar. If anyone is in the area, they should stop by and report on their opinion of the exhibit.

I attended the Luau and opening reception and this is a fabulous exhibit. Curator Richard R. Smith (author of “Fender, The Sound Heard ‘round the World” and “The Complete History of Rickenbacker Guitars”) has assembled a great collection of instruments and photos and priceless memorabilia. He is a true fan of this genera and an inspiration. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the uke and steel guitar. Thursdays are a lot of fun as they have a beer garden and live local music. I believe it continues thru to early Sept. I am going back soon to experience it again. Oh, and they have a Triple Custom with Noel Boggs name on it Cool Cool=two cool

I just got back from this show, and it is AMAZING! EVERY major manufacturer of steels and ukes is represented, along with sheet music, photographs, and other ephemera... If you are into steel AT ALL this is a must see exhibit. Several major collectors have loaned really important instruments for this show.

Only Gregg Miner has more Knutsens in one place:

This whole case is Weissenborn...
