Hello everyone!

I have just joined the forum, so I thought I'd start with introducing myself:

My name is Fred, I'm Swedish but living in the United Kingdom. I have a band called Frock (http://www.frockmusic.com) in which I write the songs, play conventional acoustic and elecric guitars (along with assorted other instruments) and sing.

I bought my first lap steel - a 1947 National New Yorker - about a month ago, so I'm an absolute beginner on the instrument (so I hope you will have patience with any stupid questions I may have Winking.

Now to my first forum subject/question: Does anyone have a case for sale for a National New Yorker, or alternatively, does anyone know where a suitable new case can be obtained?

Ideally, I would be interested in an original hard shell case made for a New Yorker.

Thanks in advance!

(I will post some pictures of my New Yorker soon - it has a brass fretboard which I beleive is quite rare.)

Best regards,

Fred

Welcome Fred...don't feel "stupid" about any questions you might have...if you don't know, then it is not a stupid question.
The folks on this forum will be very patient & helpful.
You should be very happy with your New Yorker...I like the Nationals & don't think you will be dissapointed.
I bought a Gretsch gig bag that fits my National Dynamics very well. It would most likely fit yours as well. Check MF or the Gretsch site.

Welcome Fred from another U.K. member, (North Wales), but born/bred in Yorkshire and Lancashire.Hope you get lots of fun out of the steel, I do, even though I only re-started about a year ago after a long break, and am way behind most of the other members here. But no matter what stage you're at you'll never feel out of place here, and they'll always be glad to help. Best wishes...Patrick
