I was searching for something else today and came across this recording I did about 4-5 years ago on my Bear Creek Weissenborn. It's a sort of ad lib Bossa version of Begin the Beguine. My first thought on listening again was, "Good grief, man - get a metronome and watch McGann's Rhythm Tune Up DVD again!" Then, I reflected that I could see what I was going for and some passages worked well. Here it is warts and all ...

I think it was in Bb6th (standard C6th tuned down). I don't play it too often anymore but it's one I've always enjoyed. I ws inspired by Tuck Andress' amazing solo version on a CD called Reckless Precision. |
