To remove the speaker from the amp, do i need to remove the amp section to get the baffle / speaker out ? Embarassed The speaker i'm installing is an 8 Ohm; the JBL 130-E i'm removing,as you know, is a 4ohm. Just install the new speaker and plug the wires in the speaker same as they came out of the original and all will be well, right ? Question Thanks for your help

Hey Skip,
I always used to pop off the grill
on my Webb without removing or loosening the preamp on top.
Just make sure the + and - wires are hooked up right.

Jay , thanks for the info. The speaker arrived safely and is as you described, like new. Very Happy
I figured the grille removal would be a good approach, but it fits so nice and snug i was reluctant to remove it. But i'm also hesitant to remove the guts of the amp since it doesn't appear to have ever been tampered with. Neutral Thanks again for the prompt shipping.

Skip I had the same experience with my Webb. Use a flat head screwdriver and be gentle, the grill will pop off. The velcro and tight fit make it seem as though you're forcing it.

Yeah...it's actually not plain velcro. The part on
the back of the grill have these narrow plastic
teeth that sort of snap into the receptors on the
main baffle board. It is pretty darn snug and needs
to be pryed a bit as Chip describes.
