I am trying to find out what the serial number indicates on this ole Bud #18611-A-2 if anything, I would like to know the year it was built.

Charles, many here will be able to determine the year of your Sho~Bud by looking at a few pics, if you can post them. The serial numbers are notoriously ambiguous. Smile

Thanks Chris, I don't have the guitar at this time, A friend of mine in Ms. has it. he called me and gave me the serial # he is not a forumite. I am talking about a trade with him, He thinks it was built around 1966 he is the second owner. it is blonde Birdseye 3&1, if we trade I will post some pics. Thanks Charles;

Do you know if it is a round front or square front? Does it have volume and tone knobs? Is it rack and barrel? A few details may narrow it down quite a bit.

It does have two knobs with a toggle switch in between on the rear top of cabinet, I believe they are for tone. I saw the guitar briefly I can't recall any thing else about it other than what I have stated. I thought maybe the serial # would date it. Thanks Charles;

I believe that means it's a Baldwin guitar from the late-60's. Definitely a round-front anyway. You can be assured of that. These guitars have tone to the bone. I hope your trade works out for you!

Thanks Chris, you have been a big help. If this trade goes through I will post pics of it.
