I'm not sure what the dimensions will be of my double neck steel. Probably 13 X 35 or thereabouts.

I'll need to get a case and I don't know where to start. Do I look for cases that are not meant for musical instruments but happen to work well? Do I get one custom made?

Here is one that is too large for the instrument. Obviously not the original case.

My Fender Stringmaster D6 fits in my Steinberger hard case, I took the foam rest out & it works great...I carry the Stringmasters in that case to save wear & tear on the older Fender case...Terry V.

The dimensions aren't listed on any of the sites I've found it on.

Fred Justice makes very fine cases, I'm sure you can get whatever size you need from him. I believe it's Fred Justice Music.com

For my flame maple steel, I bought a take down shotgun case with the foam inserts and covered it with a gaudy purple lycra remnant.

Did you try Kevin Hatton? From what I"ve seen, they
turn out real nice. I want one myself. They cost about $250, so I have to save a little longer....

Good info, Tom!

Lot's of manufacturers, TZ Case Int., GuardForce, Doskosport, etc. have them for well under 100 clams at on-line joints like buy.com or even cheaper on Ebay, but not the strongest lookers.

Just what exactly is 'alumitech'?

I've built a lot of cases, and it's not a way to make any money. Very labor intensive to make a good one. If a good one is available for $250, it's a good deal.

Kevin Hatton made me a nice case for my quad Stringmaster. It was covered in Fender tweed, very nice.
He is make cases now for a single neck and a T-8 Stringmaster.
