I'm not sure what the dimensions will be of my double neck steel. Probably 13 X 35 or thereabouts.
I'll need to get a case and I don't know where to start. Do I look for cases that are not meant for musical instruments but happen to work well? Do I get one custom made?
Here is one that is too large for the instrument. Obviously not the original case.

My Fender Stringmaster D6 fits in my Steinberger hard case, I took the foam rest out & it works great...I carry the Stringmasters in that case to save wear & tear on the older Fender case...Terry V. _________________ V-MUSE Lap Steel - Model One, 1970's Stringmaster D-6, '49 & '51 National Dynamics, Harmos Model One, Lazy River Weissenborn, Regal RD-45S, '78 Fender Princeton Reverb, Mesa Boogie DC-3, Fender Tele, Jeff Beck Strat, Gibson Les Paul. |

Fred Justice makes very fine cases, I'm sure you can get whatever size you need from him. I believe it's Fred Justice Music.com |

Did you try Kevin Hatton? From what I"ve seen, they
turn out real nice. I want one myself. They cost about $250, so I have to save a little longer.... |

Good info, Tom!
Lot's of manufacturers, TZ Case Int., GuardForce, Doskosport, etc. have them for well under 100 clams at on-line joints like buy.com or even cheaper on Ebay, but not the strongest lookers.
Just what exactly is 'alumitech'? |

I've built a lot of cases, and it's not a way to make any money. Very labor intensive to make a good one. If a good one is available for $250, it's a good deal. |

Kevin Hatton made me a nice case for my quad Stringmaster. It was covered in Fender tweed, very nice.
He is make cases now for a single neck and a T-8 Stringmaster. |
