Hi guys and gals, I own a Fender authorized shop in Colorado and have been recieving some help on the pedal steel forum. This week I had two lap steels guitars come in and was looking for some opinion as to the value and history of these instruments. I'm trying to help these people set a reasonable price for these instruments. Thanks again for all your help. Tom

One easy way to guage the 'at the moment' ballpark market for 'stuff' is Ebay listings, both current and completed.

The Kalamazoo is similar to one listed now, but the Rick(-ish) whitey might be a bit unusual.
Can you provide a close-up of the headstock decal?

The Rick appears to be an early S-100 student model probably 1954 or 1955 worth a few hundred dollars.

For what it's worth, another dealer is offering the same Kalamazoo lap steel with matching amp for $795 USD.
I'd agree with the estimate for the Rickenbacker S-100. They're not bad but not particularly collectible.
