My post just now on "Your First Encounter" prompted me to see if I could possibly find out what happened to my old Steel.
It was a ShoBud 6139, blond, maple, with lacquer finish.
It had the rack and barrel mech.
The setup was 3 pedals and one knee lever(lower 2 and 9). Emmons setup on ABC.
I traded it in on a new D10 MSA in late 1976 at Bruce Armstrong's Harmony Ranch in London Ontario. I seem to remember Bruce telling me that a woman had bought it from him.
I would just like to know its history and how it performed thru the years.
Does it ring any bells with fellow Canadian forumites? |

Hi Bent,
I would expect that your Sho-Bud has come through my store at some time, & probably has had the mechanism up-graded, with extra knee levers added, etc.
If you knew the Serial #, it would be easier to trace, as there were quite a few of these steels sold.

Hi Al,
Thanks for info. Sorry, don't have the serial# although I kept all the correspondence between Duane Marrs and me for years. It is all gone now of course.
No doubt, many were made.
Another thing, it seems to me that Bruce also mentioned that the woman was from Sarnia, or Lambton County at least |
