I’ve been a lap style player for almost 20 years and just joined the forum. I’ve visited this site (and Brad’s POS) many times and have enjoyed reading all the posts and soaking up the information as I progress a steel guitar player. I own and play the following instruments:
1928 style 2 Weissenborn
1930 style 1 National Tricone Hawaiian
1930’s Oahu square neck (full size)
2005 NRP Model D western
2006 Johnson Delta Blues Dobro
I also build the Tribo-Tone™ brand steels which I've played and enjoyed for almost 8 years now. My website is: www.tribotone.com
It's great to be here,

Thanks Fred!
I've wanted to join for a couple of years but could never get it together to mail in my info. BTW I like the set up... real names, check-in first membership, and the layout in general. Cheers to the host! I've enjoyed the musical topics here but have never been able to post until now. Life, as well as learning and playing music, is a work in progress

Welcome, Eric! I hope you have a lot of fun here.
I loaned my Tribo-Tone bar to Frank Novicki of the Makai Gents last night. I hope he'll post his impressions of it later on. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

Welcome Eric. I'm looking forward to the 7\8 version of your bar. Your bars seem to be very well liked by everyone that's tried them. |

Hi Mark,
7/8 is just around the corner as well as a reviews section and actual shopping cart.
Don, once a Texan always a Texan my friend.
Tom, those are some beautiful creations man! WELL DONE! There's something about a handmade guitar that is simply irresistible. Keep up the passion and creativity and never stop building.
Brad, sounds like you need another Tribo bar! Shoot me an e-mail... glad you are enjoying it.
QUESTION: I'm more of a player than a musician and don't always know the names of 'embellished' chords. High bass G tuning... key of E... forward slanted A chord; 4 string 11th fret, 5 string -10th, 6 string -9th plus open strings 1 & 3 (D & G). Sounds sort of Beatles like. What is this chord called?
Same position works in key of G with a passing forward slant F chord- add G (open 4th) and leave out strings 1 & 2. What chord is this? Is there a website where I can just plug in notes and it will tell me what these chords are? Maybe I should hit the books _________________ Tribo-Tone™ Bars |

Sounds like you have some nice stuff there- might have to come "liberate" your collection, hehehe... But seriously, it's good to see more dedicate lap players on the forum; keeps things lively. I am also looking forward to trying one of your bars, are you doing a Stevens style bar at any point? I'd be really interested in one of those! |
