Thank you Stephen. It has been quite awhile since I've heard Gene sing that song. |

It was good to hear that song again. It looks like Weldon Myrick on steel and yes he is one fabulous player. |

Yes, Weldon, certainly, and the rest of the Opry band at that time. Kudos to Hoot Hester on fiddle and of course the inimitable Gene Watson! |

Yeah, Gene's great.
I think "Farewell Party" will be one of those songs that will be remembered forever in country music....

Great as usual; I was watching a couple others on YouTube of his, Farewell Party "Live", and Nothing Sure Looks Good on You "live". Also great; does anybody know who the steel player was on those? Apparently was a regular in his band at the time. _________________ Mullen Lacquer SD 10, 3 & 5; Mullen Mica S 10 1/2 pad, 3 & 5; BJS Bars; LTD400, Nashville 112, DD-3, RV-3, Hilton VP . -- Gold Tone PBS sq neck; Wechter Scheerhorn sq neck. -- "Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone." -anon.- |
