| I don't recall reading information pertaining to steel guitar happenstances. I'm interested in reading about unusual trivia such as the report of one steel guitar buried in Alaska. If anyone who may know more about the steel player who chose to pan for gold instead of play steel in a road band, please share the info. Are there others on the forum who have experienced or have heard of similar happenstances? |

I know that you can't hold and operate a TV remote control while playing Steel. I know this because I tried.

The tale of Bobby Koefer burying his steel guitar in Alaska is a bogus story. Bobby himself told me that it never happened, although he did lose an amp during the 1964 earthquake that pretty much did havoc to Anchorage. He continued to play, and did prospecting and also construction contracting. The steel guitar he has and plays today is the one being discussed.
In other news, I recently traded a Fender Artist pedal steel for a 1956 Colt Single Action Army in 38 Special, with an additional set of stag grips. Kathy was disdainful of the trade, but I told her handguns take up less space than steel guitars, of which I already have too many.
