I will be popping my Hank's Saloon cherry on Saturday night playing with the John Powers Band. John is a fine young songwriter/hot guitarist from NJ.
There are three bands that night and I dunno where in the lineup we are, but the whole shebang starts at 10 pm.

As much as I've heard about this venue I can hardly wait to see if it's half true...

Dave,
I'm fully booked tonight so I can't make it by. I had a night there last sunday that made it to the top three weirdest hank's nights. Jon Light knows the primary protagonist from legendary night of the trucker and his special friend a few years ago. That was the weirdest ever according to everybody who was there ! Hank's is one of those pro drinker places where some nights all bets are off and people just cut loose. With any luck you will get that classic "what has my life come to" depressing hank's feeling.

it's all they said it was and ... more.

As our guitarist remarked later..."now, there's a bathroom you can shoot heroin in!"

I look back on those Sunday nights when I'd swing by after my Stephane Wrembel gypsy jazz fix.....for some soul sausage and honkey tonk Sean Kershaw with Jon Light on steel....I knew I was starting to become a regular when the weird guy who stared and never said a word, would nod hello to me..... Shocked

Hey--that nod was the least I could do. If you had kept coming back I would have gotten around to actually saying hi.

Real nice to see you, Dave.
