Any of you fo bros got an opinion on Goldtone dobros?
I've seen both a Goldtone Beard PBS Deluxe and a Goldtone PBS - M Resonator at Music123.com. Is it goodsounding quality-guitars and which of them - if any of them - would you recommend?
I also wonnder if the Regal Rd-52 would be a good choice.
Let me know what you think.

From what I understand, everyone who's ever played one agrees that the Goldtone Beard dobros leaves the competition in the dust.

PS - as far as I know, Music123 don't ship abroad, so you may need to find someone in the US who can buy and ship it for you. At least they don't ship Fender instruments abroad, but that could be due to a deal with Fender...

I would say that the Beard Gold Tone resophonic guitar is probably the best deal in resophonic guitars currently. The Regal Black Lightning RD-52 is a very nice guitar, but the Gold Tone is better.
When I buy a new resophonic guitar, it will be a Beard Gold Tone. Unless Beard gives me one!
Do a search on this forum and you'll see many other opinions of these guitars.

I agree the Goldtone Beards are the best instrument by far in their price range.
I own the Deluxe, I tried them both side by side and liked that one. I know others who perfer the Standard.
My other Reso is a Beard R Model which costs four times as much, but only sounds 50% better.
I've heard there are new solid wood Goldtone Beards, at a higher price, of course.

Yep...It's a solid mahogany.
They'll be at St Louis with Chet.

I have a one year old Beard/GoldTone Mahogony squareneck. I am very pleased with everything about it (tone, looks, fit, finish).
I bought it at Elderly instruments and it was set up perfectly. I use phosphour bronze strings on it with a C6 tuning (CEGACE). Eventhough my lowest string's gauge is only .36, it is heavy enough to drive the cone and get a good tone.
I recorded a version of Nalani using this guitar. Have a listen (caveat, the mic was a little too close to the GoldTone... I know, excuses, excuses, excuses).

Hi Andreas.
I'm pleased with my PBS mahogany standard.
Bought it through a swedish dealer with the passive Fishman PU installed.
It's quite a lot louder, and has better dynamic response than my Hound dog Dobro.
