This is Lesson 2 in my series of instruction hosted by Ron Turner's ClicTab Site.
Lesson 1 gave some direction on "Palm Blocking" while this new Lesson 2 deals with an important example of "Pick Blocking".
It is important because the sound on my playing on the sample MP3 cannot be produced
without pick blocking.
Most people associate Pick Blocking with speed picking and rightly so because it is an amazing technique. But here the technique
is used in a slow, short deliberate pattern
that has nothing to do with speed pickin'.

This little playing sample is nothing short of amazing in my opinion and opens another door for Lap Steel Technique. It will take time and perseverence but well worth the effort.

My thanks to Paul Franklin and his speed pickin tape of many years ago. Also
Andy Sandervol from Bakersfeild, Ca

Hi Roy,
Thanks for this new lesson. It's a bit over my head at the moment, I'm still too new to playing to get the full benefit from this lesson, but I've saved it along with the first lesson and I'm sure that soon I'll be returning to it for review. I appreciate all of the effort you've put into doing this for us.

THANK YOU,
Joy

Thanks Roy!

Pick blocking sure is tough! I guess it takes lots of practice, practice, practice!

...and patience, patience, patience!
