I haven't visited the forum for ages and it was good to see some familiar names and hear about what folks are up to.

I took some time off to help with the grandkids, but manage to play with a band from Richmond (the Taters) a couple of times a month.

Meanwhile, I dug up some old videos of the roots rock band I played with back in the 90s. Posted them on YouTube to add to the growing collection of steel music on that site. I've really enjoyed the videos -- quite a wide range of styles and so much talent!

My five kids are grown, but I'm not experiencing the life of leisure I'd imagined. I used to think I'd try the road band thing for a year or two once they were grown, but the addition of grandkids and some stressful situations (a daughter in Iraq and a son in prison) have kept me tied to home.

I'm grateful for all the great experiences that steel playing has given me, and especially for all the wonderful players I've met over the years.

If you want to check out the videos, they are at
http://www.myspace.com/hubbardbooks
and on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/hubbardbks1
I look forward to seeing more videos from forum members and hearing about what's going on in the steel guitar world!

Diana, I liked your video (Across the Alley)...it's refreshing to see a woman playing steel, we've got plenty of hairy-legged guys. Laughing My wife liked it as well.
