Just a heads up, since there are a lot of Stringmaster fans here. I have no involvement with this guitar.
I recently visited Al Brisco, and he just got a Quad for sale. It was refinished Gold long ago and is in rough cosmetic shape. All the original pieces seem to be on it, even the often-missing flip top bridge covers.
Everything worked. It would be a good re-fin project guitar. There's now pix at Al's site.

Those cig burns on the eBay Quad are painful for me to look at. It is missing the bridge covers. I wonder what his reserve is. It's not yet met at $1125. |

Joey: You're right. What a shame someone would let their cigarette do that kind of damage. Especially when there are so few of these guitars left. Glad I have a nice one! |

I have never seen a Quad like forumite Jody Carver has. It's brand new,he had transfered it to a music store back in 57 but lucky guy he found it in a loft in a music store back east and took it off of the dealers hands this axe was still in tune and had been locked in the loft for over 35 years.Fender wanted Jody to play a 1000 instead. If that Quad was
offered on e bay I would die. Jody promised to consider letting me have first crack at it
A Beauty like you have never saw before even has the original strings on it. |

$2K for a Quad in that condition shows the value of these instruments is going up.
Jody's Quad was featured in a Guitar Player Mag "Rare Bird" column in the 80s, complete with the story of how he found it.
This is a good place to say I love My Stringmaster. |
