I've run into an old D-8 Guyatone console steel (looks very much like a Fender) complete with case and in working order but with some cosmetic issues (or a vintage vibe, if you look at it from another perspective). It's not close enough to here to be worth the drive just to check it out. Do they sound any good, is it worth getting? Any thoughts on how far to stretch pricewise?
(...never played without pedals so far, this could be a revelation - or a big disappointment) |

Thanks Baz. This one is not as nice, but seems to be the same model. We'll see what develops. |

Hej Per,
I used to own a D-8 Guyatone for almost 10 years. It was my first ever steel guitar and was given to me by my girlfriend at that time. Sold it several years ago. Maybe it's the one you've found ...
It was a decent guitar as far as I remember, although the microphones weren't that fun.

Well, it turned out there are no legs and the price has crept up too high, so I'll just forget it. Close-up pics revealed too much! |

A chap in Owen Sound has had this Guyatone "table top" guitar (for want of better words) for sale for $100. it's an actual Guyatone catalogue item, not a homemade thing.
