It's called Schill bidding and it's really getting annoying. This clown lists a guitar he thinks is worth a lot of money and gets his buddies to open a new ebay account and bid it up hoping to trick some poor sucker into the bidding war. Notice the high bidder has 0 feedback and is a new user. Only a few people are actually bidding on it and they use the schill to raise the bids. There was a Fender 400 pedal steel on ebay recently that was the same way. They bid it up to well over $1100.00 and the high bidder had 0 feedback and it had 20 or 30 bids. It is very obvious if you just look at the bids. The same Fender 400 showed up again a week after it closed with a Buy-it-Now price of $1100.00 and of course nobody bid on it then either. It was listed a third time and was at a reasonable price but they set a high reserve which was not met. It is against ebay policy to do this but it happens all the time.
Edited to add the link of the Fender 400. This was the third time it was listed. Note the high bidder has 0 feedback and is a new user which indicates they were trying to schill bid again. I will bet it will show up again as will their schill.
