This should be interesting tonight. This will be my first gig since Colon Cancer surgery in early June. I've been practicing but still rusty as Hell.

And, I'll be surrounded by Steelers. I'm working for Lee Holloway, who is a pedal Steeler but will be picking lead tonight. Johnny Bondz, an outstanding steeler, is going to be in the audience (and may sit in on my steel) and Blake Hawkins who plays lap steel will be there. My luck there will be others.....

As I said, it will be interesting..

I'm betting on ya, Jack. So glad to see you playing after the surgery. If you can beat cancer you can do anything. Hope you have a great time.

Jack, I didn't know you were ill. Here's hoping you have a full and complete recovery.

Ok, I was there and saw and heard it all.

Jack is in fine shape. Playing as solid as ever.
He played most of the four hour gig, trading off with Johnny Bondz on steel.
However, Jack also played some lead guitar and rhythm filling in for other band members while they took a break.
So, not to worry, Jack is still a master of the pedal steel.
He has been through a lot with the all the surgery and chemo treatments but it hasn't affected his playing.

Blake, thanks (and Blake did some excellent singing on the show).

I got through it better than I thought. I even remembered most of my licks. I can't say much for my lead guitar picking tho.

Johnny Bondz was there and we switched off during the night. Johnny was at a slight disadvantage playing my Franklin as my "D" lever (lowers the E's) is on the left knee right and that knee lever on his Sho-Bud is on the right knee left.

Jack I was to late to post I know you could do it. With Johnny in the crowd is enought to make me nervious. What a great crew you had backing you up. Hard to wait for Oct. for our jam , but wait we must. You know you could have had Jack, Fred and i that would have helped.

Johnny Bondz was my insperation to learn pedal steel. He had a music store in South Glens Falls, NY when I was a kid.
Bought my Gretch Country Gentleman from him in "71" He was a nice guy and a great player as well. Glad to see you working again, Jack!
