My Freind needs to find out the year of his Sho Bud Maverick #809. He is redoing it all over by Painting the Body Burgandy and all the Metal Gold.I need to know before he messes this Steel all up.

Sam, you would get some responses if you post this question in the Pedal Steel section of the Forum. However, I will tell you that Shobud serial numbers have nothing to do with when a guitar was built. They seem to be completely random! Shobud "eras" are more definded by features like round-front/square-front, large pedals/small pedals, type of mechanism. AND, even that ain't foolproof!
One can probably tell the difference between an early Maverick, and a later one, but that's about it. I suggest you go the the Pedal Steel section, and post some pics.
Best, JB
